There's been a huge flourishing of the amount of short SF readily available, both in print and online. Magazines which would have previously have had a limited national circulation and profile can use the Internet to garner submissions from further afield, and promote themselves globally. Until such time as I retire, I'll only be able to find the time to sporadically dip a proverbial toe into this water.
